Baseball.

So, like my friend over at Eephus Smeephus, I'm a big baseball fan. While I was living in Southern California, we went to, oh...I don't even know how many baseball games together. Hell, we went to about 25 just last season, plus a Fresno Grizzlies minor league game.

Now that I'm home in Michigan, I am continuing to go to baseball games, even though Danielle is unable to go with me (which is unfortunate, because we are AWESOME at games together). So far this year, I've seen the Tigers beat the Indians from behind the bullpen, lose to the Brewers (in hysterical fashion) on a bitterly cold night from up high behind home plate, and lose to the Astros (in even MORE hysterical fashion) from up high on the other side of home plate.

I had a great view of the 3 consecutive home runs given up by Anibal Sanchez at this game! Tigers/Brewers, 5/19/15
From here we had a great view of Anibal Sanchez balking in a run against the Astros on 5/24/15.

I've got more baseball adventures planned for the summer, too, even though I doubt it'll be as epic as last year. Upcoming games: A's @ Tigers on 6/2/15, followed by some Mud Hens games! (I'm particularly excited about Jurassic Park night on 6/7/15).

And in other news - going to Canada in two weeks!! Shakespeare Festival for the win.

On Re-Learning My Hometown

Last October, after helping sell my grandma's house, I moved back home to Michigan. While I did grow up here in the Ann Arbor area, things have changed a bit since I left five years ago. Mostly me, to be honest.

Some things have stayed refreshingly the same, like the fanatical devotion to Michigan football - and some things are shiny and new. There are new restaurants, new bookstores, new specialty shops - and I'm finally brave enough to explore them.

I went to the Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets game with my brother when it was played at Ford Field in Detroit.

Good times, all around.

The Natural History Museum is as fun as ever. I made a point of going there one Sunday afternoon, even though there was still a fair amount of snow on the ground.

I may be biased, but it's my favorite museum.

Call me crazy, but I missed having to bundle up to go outside in the winter. If you don't have to bundle up, how do you know it's winter?

Scarfville!!

And let's not forget the random ice sculptures in downtown Ann Arbor!

I have plans to travel this summer, and this fall. Plans to go to Canada, Chicago, and Italy. But in the meantime, I'm taking advantage of the beautiful city and state that I am lucky enough to call home again.
